![]() This appears to be what I want and need, adjustible cfm, auto on plug for tools. $200 or something.īumping this because my local dealer sent me an ad for the new festool CT15E hepa. you can also buy a re-usable bag but it's a bit stupid in terms of price. you lose a bit of suction with any kind of separator but i think on average it is less than what a half full bag would lose you. the cleaner it stays, the better it works. While the bags aren't THAT expensive, any vacuum loses performance as the bag fills up, because the bag is perforated to permit airflow through it. I've even thought about getting a bluetooth module for mine so that I can trigger it remotely! other vacs have this now so it's not exclusive but it's something I can't live without now. it also has an automatic tool trigger so that it comes on and off with your tool. Not only in function is it better but design too - stacking systainers on it to move everything around is great, it has a brake for when you want it to stay put, etc. I've used it in the house working in the basement at night and it doesn't disturb anyone - not so with a shop vac. I would argue that it's much better than a shop vac, in terms of how much air it pulls (CFM). It is great for the reasons you state - especially how quiet it is. I'm about to add a separator in front of my CT26 (dustopper), so that I can get rid of my rigid shop vac and use the CT26 for everything around the shop. I'd like to know if anyone has first hand experience with the festool specifically with mixed manufacturer tools. Specifically about festool, are the tubes proprietary? will they only work with festool tools or can I plug it into my dewalt jobber table saw or my canadian tire mire saw and my dewalt orbital sander and likely soon to be bosch router? I read somewhere that there are cleaning adapters and adapters to make them fit to standard tool dust ports. ![]() Is it a reasonable expense to triple use it around the house? or would I be overspending when a basic shop vac will do? Can I use one of these hepa extractors as a light duty household vacuum, wet dry shop vac, and dust extractor? Knowing that festool stuff is often more expensive than the other tool brands by 2-3 times, I looked up the prices and actually was surprised that the extractors are not too far away in terms of price compared to say a makita or dewalt extractor. I have a local store that has a sale on a couple festool extractors. I am thinking I could use a new tool that could cover all of these bases. Having a larger shop vac would be handy around the house for cleaning as most of my floors are now hardwood and the upright vacuum is no longer fit to use on these floors. I currently have a tiny one that is normally used for cars. ![]() So I have a couple projects coming up that would benefit some dust extraction. ![]()
